Forged Kazakh tenge found in Russia for the first time
While monitoring of the plight of counterfeiting in the country for the first time the Bank of Russia found two counterfeits of Kazakh tenge in the second quarter of 2015 as it’s reported in the press-release.
All in all 767 false foreign currency bills are withdrawn from circulation to show an increase of forged Chinese Yuan in comparison of the first quarter (17 versus 5), whereas a number of US dollar and Euro banknotes have remained almost the same.
US dollar still proves to be the most popular currency among Russian counterfeiters – it can boast almost 90 percent of counterfeits.
A 5000-bill is the leader to be counterfeited among the Russian Ruble banknotes. 12,600 pieces to be withdrawn from circulation. It is on condition that the law-enforcement agencies of Russia detected more than 40 fake 5 and 10 Rubles coins as well.
The total of 17,000 forged banknotes is to be found in Russia within the interim of only three months.
